I talk a lot about my close relationship with my spirit guides. I know them well, see them in meditations, hear them, receive guidance from them, and even know their names (or what they allow me to call them since I’m not sure if they truly have “names”).
People often ask me how I developed this relationship with them. How can they also know their guides? Hear and see them? Who are they? How you interact with them will kind of depend on your clair/ psychic abilities, but anyone can form a relationship with their spirit team. You don’t have to be psychically gifted to do so. Enhancing and building your psychic abilities can definitely help you be more conscious of their guidance, but they’re always there guiding you regardless. A lot of the time people won’t even realize when their spirit team or higher self is sending them a download, you just suddenly know something or have clarity on a situation.
Spirit guides can be such a wide range of beings. They can be ancestors, beings from past lives, beings from other planets, or even your loved ones higher selves. My best friend and I are both also each other’s spirit guides. You can ask your team to show themselves to you in meditations. You can ask them for their names (but not all beings have names, they recognize each other by frequencies often I’ve found).
Ok so how can you develop a relationship with your guides? Here are some ways you can do it.
•Be ok with talking and not hearing or seeing anything in response. Know that when you address them, they hear you. This can be in your head or out loud. In the beginning there’s a lot of talking to what just feels like yourself and you just have to trust your being heard.
•You can ask your guides to show you signs to help you know they’re listening and with you. This can be through angel numbers, seeing feathers or a certain animal, seeing a sign you ask for, hearing a message in a song, etc. However, you want to receive the message.
•Work on enhancing your clair & psychic abilities. I’ll explain this more in another post.
•Work with crystals that help open your channel and frequency to being open to receive their messages. These are typically stones that also help enhance your intuition such as amethyst, labradorite, celestite, sodalite, lapis lazuli, indigo gabbro, Iolite, moonstone, or selenite. Angelite and kyanite are also great choices for this.
•Have patience and trust the process, this is very important. Do not doubt yourself or your abilities or it can block your channel and ability to receive messages.
Also know that not everyone is going to literally hear messages. If you have or have worked on your clairaudience mostly you will, but there are many ways to receive messages. I will explain in more depth these Clairs in another post, but I do want to give you a brief idea since it’s relevant.

There are more but these are the most common. We all usually have a mix of a few, and some will be stronger for you than others. You can work to strengthen them if you want. Knowing how you receive messages is helpful when you’re trying to communicate with the spirit realm or your guides.
Ultimately just like everything else, this takes practice. After a bit you will receive clearer answers to your questions and messages. Just be patient and keep trying! At some point it will feel almost effortless to communicate with them.
