✨Making a Dream Bag for Children✨
One way to help ensure your child has protection during the astral plane (while dreaming) and to help with nightmares are making dream bags. There are some physiological things that create nightmares (such as being too hot while we sleep) but for the purpose of this article, I’m just talking about the metaphysical properties of these items.
I like to use velvet pouches for these, you can buy them in packs. You can also use a leather pouch or even sew these items into a small cloth pillow of the same size. Just take a small amount of any of these items you feel intuitively drawn to use. You can add other herbs or crystals as well. For the crystals, I like to use crystal chips or small tumbles. Just mix them up and seal the bag tight, then place it under their pillow or close to their head on a bedside table.
I like to call for the spirit of the herb or crystal when I place them inside the bag. Then at the end, hold the bag in your hands. Soak your love and protection and intentions into the bag. You can call for archangels Michael or Gabriel if you want, or any deities you work with to help keep your child protected from any negative energy or entities and keep nightmares at bay.
Herbs (dried):
Lavender- calm, peaceful, relaxation
Chamomile- calm, peaceful, relaxation, pleasant dreams
Rosemary- protection
Angelica Root- protection
Marjoram- warmth, safety, comfort
Lemon balm- relaxation, comfort
Crystals-
Rose Quartz- loving energy, soothing, sweet dreams
Orange calcite- joy, positive energy
Obsidian- protection
Angelite- calm, peace
Howlite- calm, peace, soothing
Smokey Quartz- grounding, protection
Blue calcite- calm, peace, soothing
Honey calcite- happiness, calm
I like to cleanse and charge the bag about once a month. If you feel it needs it more often, that’s ok too. To cleanse it, you can use any method of cleansing. I usually use smoke, sound, or sit it in a salt bowl. To charge, you can place it near selenite or clear quartz or charge it with your own energy and intention again. I don’t usually use the moon for this purpose because it gets dewy at night sometimes and I don’t want moisture to get into the bag.
